Chris, David and Dino began playing together in High School, because scuzzy weirdos in white collar suburbs have their own gravitation. From this collision came the near ancient progressive metal trailblazer Shoot the Dancing Bear. Chris later left to pursue other endeavors, and Dino and David continued until its ultimate demise. The following years spawned a multitude of projects and introduced Nicky St. James, a transplant from New York that would later fill the low end of the band, to the scene and the boys. Her addition to local prog-wizards Under Falling Skies solidified her place in the scene, and her musical ability quickly earned her recognition as a force to be reckoned with. Projects came and went, chops were honed and eaten, extra sauce.
After the loss of David’s brother, at the benefit show that inevitably followed, the four came together with former STDB alum Brian Toole to form what would later become Crowrider. Recording a three song ep under the name Utah laid the foundation upon which Crowrider was built. Brian, seeking western passes, left the band and forced the now four piece to reassess and reinvent. Midnight meetings were convened, tones were hushed and hardened, conspiracies were hatched, decisions were made in secret. More blues, more grooves, more noodles, extra sauce.
For the next several years, the band wrote, rewrote, and gelled into an avalanche of bluesy riffs, rock and roll swagger, doom, gloom and groove. Finally ready, the band released their first 6 song ep, entitled Intravermis, in 2016. They’ve continued their onslaught of heavy throughout New England to their ever expanding fan base, and plan to put more music out in the near future. Heavier, groovier, gloomier. Extra sauce.
