Krakatoa - The Breach and the Void

about

Krakatoa is a 5 piece heavy metal band from Western Massachusetts. Formed in 2009, the inspiration for their music comes mostly from the inherent brutality of the natural world. Krakatoa draws on a diverse set of musical backgrounds and a wide, eclectic range of musical influences in order to capture the awesome, terrifying beauty of the world about them. They have released 3 recorded works to date: Microbellum, which focuses on life and death in the insect world; Aberrations, which details a man's death from malaria; and Krakatoa, which describes the explosion of the volcano from which they draw their name.

lyrics

Gasp for air
before the breach
Stare wide-eyed
Into the void of space
Oh, what have you done?
Floating far above the earth.
Your lack of caution
Has led to this and now
You have all been compromised
Sharp debris has pierced the hull
Heat and air are sucked away
Panic takes hold, oh what have you done?
As the air's ripped from your lungs
Know you won't decay
If the abyss before you
Should become your grave.
As your blood begin to boil
Desperate repairs made
Continuing through the nothing
For now you are safe.
