The nature of Rock and Roll bands is that they usually only stick around for a couple of years. Then they explode, implode, or just fade away. Uncomfortables are one such band that has managed to sidestep that fate. On the scene since 2001, and hundreds of shows later, all its members have been in the biz since around the time Reagan got into office.
Punk. Metal. What's the difference? A hell of a lot less than most people might think Just ask Scotty Blood, the Bong-Rattling bottom end of Uncomfortables. He'll answer that question in the most enigmatically cryptic way. "What was the question?" is his pat reply. What was the question? Indeed.
J Blood, purveyor of jet engine noise and the shred skills of a cheese grater would answer that one of two ways. The first would put you to sleep. The second would be "Wanna go get a beer somewhere?" And then proceed to tell you why, in excruciating detail why Husker Du was the greatest band ever and Sabbath something something Maiden Deep Purple Flipper Jeff Beck Fear. Two more IPA's later and you'd get the fine silken lines connecting The Kinks to Killswitch Engage, Anthrax, urp and Kate Bush Nick Cave something something DC Dischord bands something Kylie Minogue Shadows Fall Dave Clark Five. Bartender!
Enter Vinny Falkowski, the newest member from all the way back in April 2017. He walks it. He talks it. He lives it and breathes it. Never known to turn down a good time or an opportunity to beat the holy living hell out of his drums. And he has Damn fine hair. Once he steps out from behind his kit, The Mothership, you can ask him the same question about Punk and Metal. If you have the guts. He'll get down low and look you right in the eye, and growl out two words. "Motor. Head.". If you don't catch his drift, that's bad on you. But you still will probably be invited to go get schnitzel with him.
So how do Uncomfortables factor into all this mess? Who cares? Too Metal to be Punk and too Punk to be Metal. Simply a Rock and Roll Band that loves the music. What you see is what you get. Pretense been checked at the door. They love the music. They love you. Jah love you. Now give them your money.
