Punk legend Dennis Most and The Instigators was formed in 1979 as basically a fun vehicle for the Most brothers doing classic '60s garage-rock, sporting hyped-up arrangements with edge and attitude. (This was after the demise of Dennis' earlier bands Punk in '72 and Dennis Most & AudioLove in '76.) The band's first single "Excuse My Spunk" b/w "Destructive Love" was released in 1979, and shortly afterward this version of the band ceased to exist.
Most continued to do a little recording and play an occasional show during the 80's and 90's. In 1998 "Excuse My Spunk" turned up on a volume of the highly regarded Killed By Death compilation series and a resurgence of interest in Most’s work began. In late 2001, the Excuse My Spunk album appeared in Italy consisting of singles and unreleased studio tracks, followed in 2002 by a mini-tour of Italy. 2003 brought brand new Instigators recordings with the Wire My Jaw EP (a CD version of Wire My Jaw with additional early tracks was released in 2004).
Since that time Dennis Most has continued to perform and release new recordings around the world. Be prepared to see a raw high energy performance played by pros that haven't lost their passion. Punk rock the way you know it should be!
