Hope & the Husbands' original concept was formed by Chris Pirro & Hope Zimmerman in 2009, shortly after the death of Ivan, one of Hope's brothers. Spending time on Cape Cod, CP picked up the guitar for the first time in 6+ years in the basement studio of Hope's brother Sam Zimmerman. With the passing of a couple of years and Hope attending GRCB to get the courage needed to take the mic, HATH were ready for their first practice.
HATH started with friends Denise (bass), and Collin (drums), and CJ (guitar) in the Ashlaw’s basement. As all things are destined for change, the Ashlaw’s left the band later that year after playing two shows. Luckily, Jaymz Purtle was looking for bigger stomping grounds than Cape Cod and moved to Boston to join the crew with Owen Rehrauer on bass. We were ready to rock and did, until Owen left to get his PHD. After failing to find the right replacement it was decided CJ would jump on bass.
With CJ comfortable on bass we recorded our first EP in 2012. In 2013 we came back full force to record our album Separation Anxiety at Bitch Kitty Studios with our friend Thomas Wenzel. During the recording process HATH parted ways with CJ. TJ joined on bass playing for a year or so until Jaymz Purtle's departure in the summer of 2015. TJ took over the drums and a good friend of Hope's, Justine Benson, jumped in on bass. We are currently taking time off from playing shows and are in the studio putting together a new album.

I got turned on to this from the Ripples of Doom compilation. I like'em. I also like their name and the album cover. The titles cool also. I'm a loaner ,but, I'm not lonely when I'm listening to my music collection. Rich Kinman

Filthiest Sludge record I've ever been deafened by!! Riffs are disgustingly heavy, the pounding of the drums is ferocious, the bass is gnarly as shit, & the vocals are pure evil!! ALL HAIL DOPETHRONE🤘 TheMetalheadGuy
